COVID-19 Update From gfcu
In the true co-operative spirit - transition and recovery from an event of this magnitude requires action from everyone.
We sincerely thank you all for your efforts in this time of transition, where banking from home is the current ideal. If you have a family member that you can help in figuring out some of these newer banking options, please do!
Below is an update on how things are running at gfcu. Please note that this is subject to change, but reflects how things are running as of today - April 15, 2020.
We are fielding calls and emails from 9:30-3:00 Tues - Fri & 9:30-1:00 Saturdays. Our branch doors are open, only for necessary in-person transactions, from 10:00am-2:00pm Tues - Fri & 10:00am-1:00pm Saturdays.
We have taken steps to reduce the number of staff in-branch. This includes several staff working from home, and a new remote office location for staff that do not require public interactions. All of which is new to gfcu, but working well.
Some staff remain in-branch to handle any necessary in-person member transactions. Though we really believe almost all banking can now be done remotely. Learn more about banking from home - http://www.gfcu.com/BankFromHome
Account Managers can be reached by phone and email to handle matters like mortgages, borrowing, and registered savings, remotely. There are no in-person office appointments at this time, but these matters can be handled by phone and through digital documents. This also applies to our Business Banking members. A full contact list can be found on the "Bank From Home" page linked above.
We have introduced thorough cleaning and hygiene procedures for all public areas, and we have introduced member guidelines while in the branch. We are also limiting access to no more than 4 members inside at any one time.
We will continue monitoring the situation and evolving our service model to meet the needs of members and staff.
A BIG thanks to all the members who are Banking From Home already - you are helping to keep our staff and your community safe.
And a HUGE shoutout to our frontline staff that continue working with the public on a daily basis.
